The Enlightened Equipment Men's Torrid Pants are ultralight synthetic insulated pants designed to keep your legs warm without adding unnecessary weight to your backpack. Synthetic insulation that keeps working in wet weather
The Torrid Pants are built with 2 oz/yd² (68 g/m²) CLIMASHIELD™ APEX continuous-filament synthetic insulation. It gives you the warmth and packability you would expect from down, with the better all-weather performance of synthetic fill: it retains its insulating performance when damp, dries quickly, packs small and is easy to wash. That makes these pants an excellent choice for backpackers who need dependable warmth in changing conditions – from humid mountain environments to cold, frosty nights at camp.
The smooth ultralight 10D nylon shell helps block chilly winds and features a PFC-free C0 DWR finish that sheds light drizzle, fog and snow. The lightweight fabric keeps the overall weight to a minimum while providing an additional layer of protection against the elements.

While synthetic insulation is slightly less compressible than down, it offers a valuable advantage in damp conditions by retaining warmth and drying faster.
The minimalist construction focuses on warmth, comfort and freedom of movement. Unlike traditional quilted insulated pants, the Torrid Pants are made without sewn-through seams, helping prevent cold spots and maintain more consistent insulation across your legs. An adjustable elastic shock-cord waistband provides a secure, comfortable fit, while the wide leg openings make it easier to pull the pants over trail shoes.
The cut is slightly oversized to accommodate base layers or lightweight hiking trousers underneath without restricting movement.
