The Pa’lante Snow Pack is the brand’s first backpack purpose-built for backcountry skiing and snowboarding. Developed by co-founder Andrew Bentz, the pack translates the ultralight design ethos from the thru-hiking community where Pa’lante has long been a staple into the alpine environment. With a 33-liter capacity, it offers enough space for essential gear while maintaining a compact silhouette that minimizes interference during technical descents. Its low-profile shoulder straps and streamlined design reflect years of prototyping aimed at maximizing efficiency in cold, demanding conditions.

Constructed from durable, weather-resistant materials, the Snow Pack is available in two fabric options: black 210d UHWMPE Gridstop with a hydrophobic carbonate lining, and white Ultraweave 400TX, which offers greater abrasion resistance and water repellency. A removable semi-rigid back panel provides structure without compromising flexibility, and a single 46 cm torso length supports a balanced, secure fit. Key features include a zippered avalanche tool pocket, internal organization in the main compartment, and a drawcord closure. The pack also includes a stashable hip belt and excludes traditional shoulder strap pockets for a cleaner profile.

Ski and climb carry configurations are adaptable to various objectives. The pack supports both A-frame and diagonal ski carry (with user-supplied straps), two ice axe loops, crampon storage via central shock cord, and rope carry across the top. While it lacks a dedicated helmet carry system, users can fit compact helmets inside the pack or secure them externally using existing attachment points. The long side zipper allows access to gear without removing the pack, reinforcing its suitability for fast-paced ski tours where efficiency is critical.

Released alongside the Alpine Pack, the Snow Pack expands Pa’lante’s offering into technical winter and year-round mountain sports. It targets users who prioritize low weight, fast transitions, and minimalism over excess features. While not designed for skiers who require high-capacity storage or integrated accessories, it addresses a specialized market segment accustomed to balancing performance with simplicity. The Snow Pack is consistent with Pa’lante’s approach - delivering function through restraint and appealing to users who value lightweight design for high-output, gear-conscious pursuits.
