DESCRIPTION
The award-winning single-wall trekking pole tent, reworked. The Gossamer Gear The Two keeps its proven two-door, two-vestibule layout and adds the upgrades that matter most on the trail: twin ridge vents for real airflow, an intuitive new guyline system that opens up interior space, and Gossamer Gear's toughest shelter fabric yet.
It's built for two. Both sleepers get their own door and their own vestibule, so nobody climbs over anyone to reach the gear or step out at night. And at just 864 g / 30.5 oz all in, it stays firmly in ultralight territory.
Genuinely liveable for a pair. Independent entrances and gear storage on each side, a 49" peak, an interior mesh pocket and a clothesline loop – comfort that most single-wall shelters skip.
The new Fritsch Hitch guyline system frees up tub-floor real estate, while snug pole loops and a highly adjustable pitch let you dial it in on uneven ground and keep wind flap to a minimum. Packs down to just 14".
Two retractable ridge vents fight the condensation every single-wall tent battles. Open them on still nights for cross-flow, or batten down with the velcro stays when the weather turns.
Custom 15D recycled Robic with a 20D dope-dyed ripstop grid and a SIL/PU coating (1200 mm), rated to a 4,923 mm hydrostatic head. Against the previous fabric it tested 35% stronger in tensile strength and 2.35× more water resistant – same grounded design, better numbers.
No forever chemicals in the coating. Factory-taped seams and reinforced tie-out patches hold under load, while reflective zipper pulls and reflective, colour-coded guylines keep you from tripping over the setup after sunset.
Room for two
With 213 cm of interior length, The Two comfortably suits campers up to around 190 cm, and the floor is wide enough for two standard sleeping pads side by side. The roughly 125 cm peak height lets you sit up, change and sort your kit without hunching. Thoughtful details round it out: a clothesline at the ridge, a hook for hanging a lantern, and side mesh pockets for the small things you want within reach.
Made for bad weather. ClearSkies™ fabric near 5,000 mm of water resistance, factory-taped seams at every stitch line, reinforced tie-outs and six aluminium stakes make for a shelter that holds firm when the rain settles in.
Note: The Two is a trekking pole tent. Two trekking poles or a dedicated pole set are required at the recommended 125 cm height (poles sold separately).

Frequently asked questions
Do I need trekking poles to set up The Two?
Yes. It's a trekking pole tent and needs two trekking poles or a dedicated pole set at the recommended 125 cm height. Poles aren't included, but we stock two trekking pole options and a dedicated Pole Set separately.
How does The Two deal with condensation?
Every single-wall shelter sees some condensation. The Two manages it with two retractable vents – open them on calm nights for airflow, or close them off with the velcro stays when the weather gets rough.
What is ClearSkies™ fabric?
Gossamer Gear's in-house shelter fabric: PFAS-free 15D recycled Robic nylon woven with a 20D dope-dyed ripstop grid for durability, UV stability and tear resistance at very low weight. A silicone/PU coating (1200 mm) seals it completely and makes it highly hydrophobic, so morning dew shakes straight off. The result is a 4,923 mm hydrostatic head – above the average three-season tent and nearly at the 5,000 mm mountaineering benchmark.
Will a taller person fit comfortably?
The 49" peak height suits the average seated height of a 6'2" person. Seated height varies, so a quick check with a tape measure is the surest way to know.
How waterproof is it in heavy rain?
ClearSkies™ fabric delivers close to 5,000 mm of water resistance, the factory-taped seams seal every stitch line, and reinforced tie-out patches stay solid under tension. It's built for serious weather.
What's included?
Six aluminium stakes, two static guylines and a clothesline. Trekking poles or a pole set are sold separately.
