The Gossamer Gear Polycryo Tent Footprint is the go-to ultralight ground cloth for hikers and backpackers who want to protect their tent floor without carrying extra weight. Use it as a footprint under your tent or as a groundsheet with a tarp shelter – it keeps dirt, moisture and abrasion away from your sleep system and helps extend the life of your shelter.
New eco-conscious material: PolyEarthylene®
Gossamer Gear has updated the material to PolyEarthylene®, a USA-made biobased polyolefin. It can be recycled in standard plastic recycling streams (typically codes 2, 4 and 5) and fully biodegrades in an active landfill environment, usually within 1–5 years depending on conditions. Please follow Leave No Trace principles and always dispose of it properly – never on the trail.
As with most ultralight materials, PolyEarthylene® performs best with reasonable care, offering durable, lightweight waterproof protection from campsite to campsite. It packs down tiny, and you can trim it to size with scissors for a perfect fit under your tent – or simply fold the excess over.
