It was created in 2018 by former park ranger Anastasia Allison, after she came across a pile of discarded toilet paper on a sunset hike in Washington's Alpine Lakes Wilderness and decided there had to be a better way. The soft black side is a silver-infused antimicrobial fabric that holds up to 10 times its weight in water and stays odor-free for days, while the printed side is fully waterproof so your hand stays clean and dry. A snap loop attaches it to your pack, a second snap folds it away clean, and a strip of retro-reflective thread helps you find it at night with a headlamp. Every Kula is handmade in the USA from eco-friendly materials, and each print features original artwork that supports independent artists and non-profits.
