About Durston Gear
Durston Gear is one of the most talked-about names in modern ultralight backpacking. Designed by Dan Durston in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, the brand is built on a first-principles design philosophy - solving real problems rather than following trends. Dan is a scientist and seasoned thru-hiker (Pacific Crest Trail, the first yo-yo of Canada's Great Divide Trail) who built one of the first Dyneema tents back in 2009, long before most brands worked with the fabric. His signature X-Mid tent uses a clever offset two-pole geometry that lets you sleep diagonally, delivering huge interior space and an easy, storm-worthy pitch at a price that undercuts almost everything comparable. Durston tents are among the most popular shelters on the PCT and AT, made in the same world-class factories that build for brands like Arc'teryx and MSR.
Outdoorline was the first retailer in the world authorized to sell Durston Gear, back in 2023 - at a time when the tents were otherwise available only direct from Durston. We serve European customers from our warehouse in Kosice, Slovakia, stocking the full range: the X-Mid 1 and X-Mid 2, the ultralight DCF X-Mid Pro series, the freestanding X-Dome, the Solid winter versions, the Kakwa 55 and Wapta 30 backpacks, the Iceline and Z-Flick poles, plus groundsheets and accessories - all shipping fast from our EU warehouse with no customs fees, no import taxes, and no surprises.
