Hyperlite Mountain Gear (HMG) makes some of the lightest, most durable packs and shelters on the planet. Founded in 2010 in Biddeford, Maine by Mike St. Pierre, the brand is built around one material obsession: Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), a laminated fabric that is fully waterproof, virtually rip-proof, and weighs almost nothing. In 2025 HMG upgraded its core packs to a new fully woven Dyneema construction that is up to 10x more abrasion resistant than the previous fabric, while staying just as light and waterproof.
